John first came to the CAR in 1980 in the days when he was employed by De Beers. He began in Zambia as a graduate geologist in 1970 and moved to the DRC in 1974. He spent 15 years in Botswana (1985 to 1999) and 4 years consulting in the DRC to SouthernEra Diamonds (2003 to 2006). He enjoys the challenges of French speaking Equatorial Africa and has extensive experience of kimberlite and alluvial diamond exploration and mining. John joined Gem Diamonds in October 2007 and is happy to be working in the CAR again.
Mark Pearson - Finance and Administration Director
Mark has 28 years work experience in the Central African Republic where he is also the British Honorary Consul. Mark entered the diamond mining sector in 2005, firstly with Pan African Resources helping to establish their business in CAR. Mark joined Gem Diamonds Centrafrique in September 2006 where his local knowledge and experience helped the company in establishing themselves as a leader in the CAR mining industry.
Alfred Ndoutingai - Assistant General Manager
Alfred is an evaluator of rough diamonds with five years of practical experience working with the Diamond and Gold Evaluation Office in Bangui, Central African Republic. Since joining the company in November 2006, Alfred has played a central role in the development of Gem Diamond Centrafrique with a specific focus on Government relations.
