• promoting the regular measurement, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of CSR objectives;
• maintaining transparent, consultative relationships with all stakeholders in the community through effective communication channels;
• identifying, assessing and managing all potential risks to the project-affected communities in which the Company operates;
• ensuring safe, acceptable and effective systems of operation for all affected persons;
• supporting the fundamental human rights of the people in the communities in which the Company operates;
• respecting the traditional rights of indigenous people;
• contributing to the long-term social, economic and sustainable development of project-affected communities; and
• regularly reviewing the level of implementation of the CSR management systems at all operations to ensure they remain current and effective.

The Company is against the use of child labour and safeguards will be put in place to ensure that this does not occur at any of its operations or businesses.

To this end, Gem Diamonds will provide the necessary financial, physical and human resources required to ensure the implementation of and compliance with this policy.
