Longatshimo

The Longatshimo project comprises thirteen concessions on or around the Longatshimo River, with a combination of mining and reconnaissance permits. As with the Lubembe project area, the area was previously prospected in some detail with small alluvial mines established, followed by more recent artisanal mining. The project area is 40km to the west of the Lubembe project area, accessible by road and ferry. Alluvial diamond sampling was undertaken in the Longatshimo from 2006 to 2008.

Longatshimo hosts numerous geophysical anomalies and kimberlite indicator minerals have been collected in sediment samples from the Longatshimo river. A kimberlite exploration programme including drilling of geophysical anomalies is ongoing.
