Dubai

Map of UAE Gemtech

Dubayy (Dubai) is one of the 7 Trucial States of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), formed between 1971 and 1972 after the British withdrew from the Persian Gulf. The UAE lies on the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula, extending along part of the Gulf of Oman and the southern coast of the Persian Gulf and is neighboured by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman.

With the recent growth of the jewellery market in China and the Middle East, Dubai has rapidly emerged as a global hub for the diamond cutting and polishing industry. Apart from its opportune geographic location, Dubai’s allure to diamond traders is strengthened by solid infrastructure and banking systems, excellent import and export services and a favourable tax and customs framework.
